Leading when you are not in control

As a contrast to my article from the end of last year (What are the characteristics of a good CIO?) which was a more traditional look at the CIO, I have just been reading this excellent article by Joel Dobbs titled “Leading when you are not in control” which describes the disruptive technologies that will remove the control from the CIO and the characteristics they will need to survive. Well worth reading.
